Organisation

The ELV was founded in 1994, by a dozen of Dutch barge owners.

Currently, we boast about 100 adhering enterprises from Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands, with an individual loading capacity of 350 to 900 tons. Our collective cargo capacity runs up to over 55.000 tons. On top of that we charter external vessels.

The ELV is managed by an executive committee, consisting exclusively of barge owners. The present chairman is Bart Verkade. Twice a year, the lines of policy are discussed with all members.

Besides a chairman, a vice-chairman/treasurer and a secretary, there are two members of the board taking care of ballots and innovation. We also have four commissioners. To get in touch with the executive committee, you can use our contact form.

Our office takes care of the international co-ordination and organization.

Accounting and affreightment are ensured by Aqua Navis BV. Since 2020 Aqua Navis is part of NPRC.

The office is ISO 9001 and GMP+ certified. All adhering enterprises are certified for transporting feeding of livestock and products for human consumption (GMP and HACCP).
